Postman API - How-to Guide
I created a beginner's guide for Postman to help Thinkful students and aspiring software engineers set up, explore, and begin using the API platform. Many peers in my cohort struggled to find a streamlined, step-by-step resource for first use, which made the early learning curve more challenging. As a result, I developed a clear guide to simplify onboarding and provide lasting reference material. My goal was to:
• Develop a user-friendly how-to guide, covering installation, setup, and basic API requests for beginners.
• Present technical concepts in an accessible language, reducing confusion and helping new users build confidence with APIs.
• Produce an effective resource, created in Markdown with Visual Studio Code and Snagit, I later recreated the document in Microsoft Word for broader accessibility, and published it on Dev.to for wider reach.
